ML/DL for urban geotechnical hazard and risk prediction

Machine and deep learning for susceptibility mapping and prediction of land subsidence, settlement of structures on soft soils, and slope and riverbank instability.

Full description

This theme trains machine learning models (Random Forest, XGBoost, SVM) and deep learning models (CNN, LSTM, Transformer) on geotechnical investigation data, monitoring records and InSAR remote sensing time series, integrated on a GIS platform. The goal is to move from isolated site assessment to spatially continuous risk mapping that supports early warning and safe planning for Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
